He has shown a willingness to contribute his heart and soul to
build a stronger community. He has made it a life mission to
put family first. For those of you that know Tony, you also know
that his definition of family is broad to say the least.
Growing up Tony’s parents, Peter and Laura Tocco, made sure
he had plenty of brothers and sisters to look after. As a child he
was the protector of his family. He spent many hours spying on
his sister Kris as she began to date, and took his youngest
sister, Connie, with him everywhere in his yellow Duster. As
time passed, Tony along with his father and two brothers,
Frankie and Lenny, began a business known now as M&L
Foods Inc. In the years to follow he would spend countless
hours working to improve and grow the business for his family.
During this time, he ran into a racy red head named Carla.
This would be a whole new beginning for Tony. It all began on
Carla’s front porch, were Tony proposed. On May 4th, 1974,
Tony and Carla tied the knot. They would often jump into a car
with no plans or destination and just drive. The car trips soon
ended as Tony and Carla started their family. In July of 1976
they were blessed with the first of five daughters, Laura. Fifteen
months later Cristina arrived, followed by the rest of the girls
Toni, Nicci, and Tiffany. Browse Family Photos
Tony now had a new mission in life, providing for five little girls.
So, he would take on a new endeavor, as a Dee Jay. He began
a service called Tocco’s Entertainment Plus. While still
working for the family business he spent every Friday and
Saturday helping numerous couples and families celebrate
their special days at weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and
parties. Tony brought awareness to our local youth community,
thru the CYC, by providing a venue for kids to have a party while
staying away from drugs and other influences. On top of all of
this he still found time to participate in the lives of his girls by
coaching their soccer teams, serving as the head of the father
daughter committee, and fixing the “little” messes they often
found themselves in!
However, Tony’s charity does not stop there. His vocabulary
does not contain the word no! If asked, he would find a way to
help everyone! Tony could often be found around town helping
friends and neighbors fix their lawn mowers, putting in new
electric, working at the church concession stand, and
countless other deeds.
Tony can now often be found spending time playing with his
grandchildren. He has been blessed with five grandchildren
so far, three grandsons Brennen, Anthony “Leo” Hall, and
Anthony Edward Fontes, as well as, two granddaughters
Carmella Marie Hall and Samantha Tocco Bergjans.
To sum it up, Tony has spent his life in service of others.
Unfortunately on June 3rd 2007 Tony and his family were hit
with a devastating blow, Tony was diagnosed with
Pancreatic Cancer. Read More about Tony's Medical
Condition.
We hope that you will take a minute to remember how Tony
has affected your life, and support Tony, along with his family,
through their time of need. There simply are no words to
express how much your support means to Tony and his family.
We have been blessed throughout the years with such
wonderful friends and family, and feel closer to you now than
ever before!
